Commercial Insurance Resources

Welcome to the Business Tools Commercial Insurance Resources, your guide to protecting your business. Information below has been taken from the CA Department of Insurance.[1]

Why do you need Commercial Business Insurance? Commercial insurance can safeguard your business from common risks such as property damage, business interruption, theft, liability, and worker injury.

How Can I Purchase Commercial Insurance?

Contact a Broker or Agent: Make sure that you are working with a competent, reliable broker-agent who specializes in commercial coverage. Insurance companies that are members of the Chamber have proven themselves as trusted partners with many local businesses. Looking for a personal referral? Contact the Chamber and we can connect you with someone in your line of business that can refer you to a agent that is familiar with your business.

What Should I Expect from a Broker or Agent?

Your broker or agent should take adequate time to learn about your business operations and potential exposures associated with your industry and business type. They should also review your current policy if you have one. You do not have to disclose your current premium. It is critical however, that you are truthful and forthcoming about your operations to ensure the insurance carrier will help protect you from losses.
