Get your ducks in a row and support The Child Abuse Prevention Council by attending the 5th annual Ducky Derby and Public Safety Day, to be held at Weber Point in Downtown Stockton on Saturday, May 9, 2020. The Ducky Derby has teamed up with the Stockton PD to make the Ducky Derby and Public Safety Day, a fun, festive and unique event is FREE to the public. Ducks will be available to adopt at various locations throughout San Joaquin County, online at www.CAPCducks.com as well as at the event (prior to 2:00) for $5.00 each. On race day - from high above McLeod Lake, Delta Cranes will hoist the ducks in our Cal Water canvas bag. At 2:00pm, the cords will be pulled and 10,000 numbered rubber ducks will drop into the lake, floating through lane lines to the finish line - revealing the top ten winners. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten winners and first place this year is a CASH prize of $1,000! The organizers anticipate this unique event will draw as many as 3,000 people and grow each year as the excitement and popularity of the Ducky Derby increases. The Public Safety Day and Ducky Derby will feature: live entertainment, a Bike rodeo sponsored by The California Highway Patrol and Stockton PD, police youth activities, motorcycle and K-9 Demos, Crime Prevention information, fingerprinting, displays for all ages, hands-on activities for kids and parents, as well as information and resource sharing. The goal of the Ducky Derby and Public Safety Day is to provide a fun, healthy and entertaining atmosphere where families can enjoy a day together. Funds raised from the event will benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin.
