Miller's Hot Dogs Named Business of the Year

The Lodi District Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the Business of the Year: Miller’s Hot Dogs. The Chamber Board of Directors deliberated and chose both the Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year at their final Board Meeting of 2019. “Miller’s Hot Dogs is an exemplary choice for Business of the Year,” said Lodi Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Pat Patrick. “Miller’s originated in the Bay Area and moved their facility to Lodi due to the room they had to grow. Today, they are a large employer, continuously contributing to the betterment of Lodi’s economic growth. We look forward to celebrating them at Annual Dinner.”

In 1910, founder Ben Miller, a German sausage maker, began manufacturing smoked meat products out of a small warehouse in Oakland, California. Since that time, Miller Packing Company has continued the tradition of producing only the highest quality hot dogs and sausages. Miller’s products achieve their old-world taste by combining fresh cuts of premium meats with a special blend of seasonings that have been passed down for over 100 years. Miller’s Hot Dogs moved to Lodi in early 2002, mostly due to the low-cost and ease of transportation access to the new facility. Consumers can find these products on the shelves at national retail chains- from hot links, beef franks, bologna, and more. Owner Staige DeBenedetti- who participated in Lodi Chamber’s GrowInLodi.com video project- said, “Miller’s came to Lodi to be more accessible to our consumers, and we have found a family here in this community. It’s been a great move for our company. I have always say that the San Joaquin Valley feeds the United States, and we are a part of that here at Miller Packing Company.”

The Lodi District Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing Business of the Year Miller’s Hot Dogs on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the 97th Annual Dinner & Outstanding Citizens Celebration at Wine & Roses. The event will also recognize Outstanding Citizen Mark Armstrong, Agribusiness Person of the Year Jennifer Spaletta, Ambassador of the Year Joy Furtado Freeman and Small Business of the Year House of Clocks.  Tickets for the 97th Annual Dinner & Outstanding Citizens Celebration can be purchased here or at the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce.
